INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS COMMITTEE MEETING

An International Business Committee (IBC) meeting was held on 22 October 2019. Chaired by Mr. Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Chief Secretary for Administration, HKSAR Government, it was a thorough briefing of The Chief Executive’s 2019 Policy Address Treasure Hong Kong: Our Home delivered the week before.

A total of 220 new initiatives were put forth in four (4) major categories:

  • Housing;

  • Land Supply;

  • Improving People’s Livelihood and

  • Economic Development.

MexCham HK President, Mauricio Lozano, tabled the IBC agenda item regarding merchandise non grata destined for Mexican resorts that logistics companies are currently refusing to handle. The HK Government has agreed to help us resolve this issue for one of our MexCham HK members.
